Database
Description
This database provides a listing of the local
governmental records held by the Illinois Regional Archives
Depository (IRAD) system. Local governmental records include those
from county, city, town, village, and township levels throughout
Illinois. Numerous offices are represented from these levels. The
record holdings of the IRAD system include over 5,400 different
record series.
For each record series the following information
is included: depository, accession number, title, county, beginning
date and ending date.
Obtaining
County Listings
A listing of local governmental records held by
the Illinois Regional Archives is also provided in a PDF (Portable
Document Format) file, which can be viewed or printed using your Web
browser and Adobe's Acrobat Reader software. Macintosh and Windows
versions of Acrobat Reader may be downloaded free of charge from
Adobe.
Printed listings of county, township, and
municipal records held at the regional depositories are available
upon request. The listings are arranged by county and sorted by
office and record title within each county. Please limit requests
to five counties at a time. County listings and additional
