The Library Automation and Technology Division employs technology to facilitate access to information for Illinois citizens. Services include:

Capturing Electronic Publications (CEP)
CEP is a grant project designed to replicate the successes of the PEP Project in other states while producing the next version of the software.

Electronic Documents of Illinois (EDI)
The Electronic Documents of Illinois provides permanent public access to official publications of the State of Illinois which have been deposited in electronic form.

Illinois Digital Archives (IDA)
The Illinois Digital Archives was developed to provide access to primary source materials in Illinois libraries, archives, museums, historical societies and other cultural institutions. It was designed to be a searchable repository for the Illinois State Library's digital collections as well as those of other libraries and cultural institutions in Illinois.

Project Next Generation
Project Next Generation was initiated in 2000 to encourage students to become technology-savvy by providing the opportunity for hands-on experience with the latest technology tools. Its primary goal is to provide participants with a safe environment in which they can become familiar with new technology and enhance their social abilities.

The mentors involved with the program foster the development of their students by helping them gain technical knowledge necessary for future educational and professional success and to develop self-confidence and pride.
